I knew that she could take them out into some areas that would be too hard for me to try. Let me just say, SHE WAS PHENOMENAL! She brought spotting scopes, beverages and a big lunch for all of us, and was in constant contact with other guides out that day, so we knew where the animals were. We saw virtually all species in the area that day! Again, PHENOMENAL! Her personality makes her hard not to love; warm, funny, flexible, and very well educated in her sciences and her guiding. My grandsons took to her immediately, asked a million questions and had a bang-up day, as did I. SO FUN! Give yourself an amazing Yellowstone experience by going out in the Park with Kate. Located just outside the Northeast entrance, we were immediately in the Lamar Valley and thus were able to spend almost all of our time in the land of wildlife without having to travel the entire park. The Silver Gate guides alert one another over radio for wildlife spottings. Another big plus on his tour, is the hot coffee or tea, big variety of snacks & fresh sandwich (vegan & vegetarian options available) from Cooke City bakery Hunter provided for us all. We highly recommend booking a tour when you are in the area. It was the highlight of our stay.

Our family had the opportunity to experience a private sunrise wildlife tour with Silver Gate Guides and we were beyond impressed. She not only had a vast knowledge of the wildlife, but also Yellowstone National Park history and beyond. She was able to answer any questions and we learned so many facts. We had a spectacular morning as we were able to spot a bald eagle, pronghorn, mountain goats, elk, a sandhill crane pair, grizzly and wolves! We were fortunate to have her help spotting, as we never would have seen most of these without her guiding experience and equipment. A few things that exceeded my expectations, besides Kates’ guiding experience, included an add-on to the scope which allowed a larger screen for the kids (and adults!) to see the animals more clearly AND take pictures/video. These were shared with us after our trip, so we could save them for our memories. She also came well prepared with a variety of breakfast snacks and hot coffee! If you are hoping for a more memorable park experience, Silver Gate Guides goes above and beyond. For us, this experience lifted the pressure off the more seasoned Yellowstone travelers in our group and allowed us to enjoy the park in a way we would not have been able to without Kate.

Kate's knowledge and stories about the wildlife and the park seemed to know no bounds and she left us with a much greater understanding of the animals we observed, their behaviour and their relationship with Yellowstone and the wider ecosystem. She also provided coffee, snacks and a welcome breakfast, as well as sharing the use of the binoculars and scopes that really do seem to be essentianal to viewing much of Yellowstone's inhabitants. Absolutely nothing to fault with the experience - we left so impressed with this lady's knowledge, her love for Yellowstone and it's wildlife and perhaps most importantly her easy manner and enthusiasm for sharing it with us. Hunter, our... read more guide, was so fabulous, and though he was upfront about no guarantees with seeing wildlife on our day with him, we not only met my husband’s goal of seeing wolves in the wild and Yellowstone, but we also saw a grizzly bear, her two cubs, and a moose. We saw all of them have an interaction that was a big surprise and it wowed us. I’m sharing photos, but it’s inadequate to describe the scene we witnessed… It’s like they were paid actors! In addition to the wildlife, our time spent with Hunter was wonderful.
