Our guide, Hunter Graham was very knowledgeable about the park, the animals, and advised us about places to eat, sightseeing, etc. He was a pleasure to talk to. Hunter was able to find just about every animal for our viewing pleasure. It was truly a remarkable day that will be remembered forever! Our guide, Hunter, was very knowledgeable about the area and the animals we spotted. We saw a great variety of wildlife with our top 2 being wolves and brown bears. She was very professionnal and knowledgeable, and a great storyteller too! We saw a lot of wildlife and learned about the park and its ecosystem. Kate was great. Very personable and very knowledgeable. We saw bears, wolves, mountain goats, and eagles. Hiring Silvergate guides was the best decision we made on our trip to Yellowstone and the Lamar Valley. First, we loved the the small towns of Silvergate and Cooke City. Silvergate could not be more convenient to the NE entrance to YS/ Lamar Valley. Kate our guide was simply amazing. Her experience, knowledge and easy going story telling made the experience great; but even better was how quickly and efficiently she put us in a position to view some amazing wildlife. Within an hour (no pressure Kate) we witnessed 3 grizzlies, 7 wolves and a bald eagle all battling over the same Elk carcass. She had us up on a hill with scopes on the action in no time to see something we will never forget. As our 1/2 day progressed we saw the wolves again on the way returning to the den, pronghorn, Bison (including a close call wilt a mild stampede), black bears and among other things some extended viewing of another grizzly. Also, we stayed with Silvergate and it was a great decision. Easy meet up early in morning in front of the general store and after the guided tour, we were back in the park in 15 minutes. Super convenient, free coffee and an awesome general store. Good food in Cooke City nearby. Thank you Silvergate and Kate for a great experience!! Do not skip Lamar Valley.Posted onTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My wife and I had a fascinating wildlife tour in Lamar Valley with Kate of Silver Gate Guides. Kate was friendly, professional, conscientious, and passionate about her guiding and made sure we had a wonderful day. Lunch, snacks and drinks were provided. She was tuned in to our priorities and invited our questions. She shared her extensive knowledge of the Lamar Valley ecosystem and the wildlife. We saw wolves, a grizzly, bison and pronghorn. While we did not see a moose, Kate gave us tips on where to look. Based on what we learned from Kate we did see two moose the following day as well as a grizzly and wolves again. Kate is very connected to the wildlife and wolf experts in Yellowstone and is part of a radio network that increases chances of locating wildlife. Scopes were provided and Kate sent us photos and videos of the wildlife we observed. Silver gate was a wonderful place to start our adventure in Yellowstone. We drove over the hearth highway to get there. We hired a guide from Silver gate to see wolves in the wild and Kate was wonderful! We saw several wolves and a grizzly bear. What a great way to start our vacation in Lamar Valley.Load more
